Springtime, and all her glorious details, brings me peace. This is my first New Mexico Spring and the migrating birds returning home to summer in the mountains are just blowing my mind. The feeders are an explosion of color around the clock. As a peace offering to you, a nice little weekend boost, I'll share with you some of my favorite backyard birdies.
This guy has perfected the art of "tuning out" the loud-mouth in the family. He's meditating right now.
Always a favorite.
Okay, so she's not a birdie, but isn't this the most luxurious squirrel you've ever seen? Look at her coat! I think her name must be Zsa Zsa...

Beyond cool. These are wonderful. Thank you, so much, for sharing this beauty. You have a real birdwatching paradise there. I'm so happy for you. Listening and being led to the perfect place is what I'm working on manifesting in my life. Inspiring...
Wow, what pictures. Really good stuff and it is relaxing isn't it to watch creatures, great and small?
Kristy, I will be celebrating my blogoversary this June 27th, 2010. I want to start posting my favorite posts of my friends. I've been trying to find your post on eating in a Raton Cafe that had the burrito event. The comical one you wrote that cracked me up. Can you direct me to it?
Wow Kristy!!! Grosbeaks galore! I adore birds. Was an avid birder once upon a time. Thanks for sharing this...you've got such gifting with your weave of words and images. Indigo bunting...only one I've seen "in person" I saw while birding in NJ. So beautiful.
What a feathered paradise! I especially loved the Orieole, such vibrant colors. Loved how you wove beauty and humor. Have a great weekend.
Oooh how wonderful! I've been watching in backyard too...I don't have all that beautiful color, but the singing in the morning and evening is incredible. Love it...& thanks for sharing your pics! I will really miss going to NM this spring...maybe next year...
oh my gosh you have such gorgeous birds!
Me again. I meant to add, I love the little meditating bird who's tuning out the family loud-mouth. I'm glad I came back to look again. These are so beautiful. What a great post.
Wow...having all these kinds of hard-to-see grosbeaks and buntings at your feeder is like having the Dalai Lama show up to bless your house. You've got sumpn' special going on there for sure. You and New Mexico - a match made in heaven.
